Representing Members at Three Levels
The Canadian Home Builders’ Association represents the residential construction industry and serves members at three levels. When you join your local CHBA affiliate in your area, you automatically become a member of the association at the local, provincial and national levels.
Local Level
Associations at this level conduct monthly meetings, industry seminars, professional development, marketing campaigns, awards programs and municipal government liaison. This gives members ample opportunities to have their voice heard by government, make business contacts, stay informed and build recognition with consumers.
Provincial Level
CHBA BC advocates for its members on a wide range of issues encompassing government regulations, policies, and fiscal planning at the provincial level affecting the residential construction industry. CHBA BC monitors and participates in the development of building codes and safety standards, the builder licensing process, and offers energy programs. We also provide education conferences, a housing awards program, and our committees provide opportunities for members to meet and network with peers from across the province.
National Level
At the national level, the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) represents and serves the entire membership from coast to coast including eligibility to enter the National Awards for Housing Excellence or attend the annual national conference where you can network and meet other builders and renovators from across Canada.

The Environmental Stewardship Division of CHBA BC is the managing body delivering energy programs such as EnerGuide, ENERGY STAR®, R-2000, and Net Zero Home Labelling programs in the province. These qualification programs give members the ability to stand out and be recognized as experts in energy efficiency and sustainable residential construction.
