Code of Ethics

The purpose of the Code of Ethics is to articulate and promote ethical behaviour and values of conduct among members and directors of the association so they fulfill their duty and render services to the community, profession, and fellow members in a fair and professional manner.
These responsibilities are freely and solemnly assumed as they form part of an obligation for members and directors of the Association.
Members and Directors of the association shall:
  1. comply with the Building Code of British Columbia as a minimum standard for construction and shall work toward its improvement in the interest of structural sufficiency, safety, and health.
  2. plan their sites and homes to conform to the principles of good community planning.
  3. deal justly with their employees, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
  4. co-operate to extend the effectiveness of the Association by exchanging information and experience, and encourage research on materials and techniques in order to provide better homes at a lower cost.
  5. uphold the principle of appropriate and adequate compensation for the services which they render.
  6. avoid all conduct or practice likely to discredit or do injury to the home building industry.
