CHBA BC Hosts Vibrant Discussion on Missing Middle Housing
This week, CHBA BC hosted a webinar presentation on the ReHOUSING research project, which explores how to convert single-family homes into multi-unit housing and supports zoning reform to allow multiplexes across Toronto’s residential neighbourhoods.
The hour long session was an engaging discussion on Missing Middle housing between the ReHousing project team and attendees, including home builders, building officials, designers and researchers.

The project’s jurisdictional scan includes the City of Vancouver and the City of Victoria’s missing middle initiatives. A housing catalogue, available at www.rehousing.ca, shows over 50 examples of “missing little” densification as renovations, additions and new construction floor plans for typical house types across the city.
ReHOUSING is a collaboration between the University of Toronto Daniel’s Faculty of Architecture and LGA Architectural Partners, funded by the Neptis Foundation.
