The Canadian Home Builders’ Association of British Columbia is the leading advocate of the residential construction industry across the province. We work to the benefit of our members and the public through excellence in government and public relations, education and building innovation.

Code of Ethics

The purpose of the Code of Ethics is to articulate and promote ethical behavior and values of conduct among members and directors of the association so that they fulfill their duty and render services to the community, profession, and fellow members in a fair and professional manner. 

 

These responsibilities are freely and solemnly assumed as they form part of an obligation for members and directors of the Association.

Our President

 

Fraser Valley home builder, Lesa Lacey will serve as CHBA BC President for 2025-2026. Lesa is also the Business Manager at Lacey Construction.

Ms. Lacey is active in the community including Board of Governors at the University of the Fraser Valley, Vice President of CHBA-BC, Past President of CHBA Fraser Valley and BC Construction Safety Alliance, and board member with the CORCAN Advisory Board, Skills Canada BC and Mission Association for Community Living.

Ms. Lacey is the Founding Member at Fraser Valley Women in Construction Group and CHBA Fraser Valley Boot Bank loaning steel-toed footwear out to high school students to attend field trips and pursue careers in trades. She is the recipient of the President’s Award from the Mission Chamber of Commerce, the Member of the Year Award from CHBA BC, and the President’s Award from CHBA Fraser Valley.

In her volunteer roles, Ms. Lacey is passionate about volunteering to support women in trades and trades as meaningful careers – including volunteering with Skilled Trades BC and Correctional Service of Canada. Lesa enjoys spending time volunteering in corrections in the United States with Defy Ventures and Hustle 2.0.

Darren Witt began serving as CHBA BC’s Interim Chief Executive Officer in December 2025. He brings strong industry experience, deep knowledge of our association network, and a proven commitment to supporting builders, renovators, and industry partners across the province.

With a background in commercial construction, his professional experience includes roles as an Architectural Technologist, general contractor, safety expert, and as former owner of the award-winning Bercum Builders in Vernon. He is the Past-President of CHBA Central Okanagan and was serving as a Presidential Appointee on CHBA BC’s Executive Committee; he will step away from this appointment during his time as Interim CEO.

Working with the exceptional staff and the Board, Darren will help ensure CHBA BC remains focused, responsive, and aligned with the needs of our members province-wide.
