New Partnership to Facilitate Delivery of CHBA Net Zero Renovation Labelling

CHBA BC is excited to announce that we have partnered with a long-time CHBA member and Licensed Service Organization, Capital Home Energy to deliver the CHBA Net Zero Renovation Labels on homes seeking sustainable and efficient upgrades as part of a renovation.

CHBA BC’s Director, Energy Programs, Vanessa Joehl says the partnership will help support an increase in CHBA Net Zero Renovation labels in BC. “As a service organization that primarily focuses on new construction, I am thrilled that renovators can now turn to the team at Capital Home Energy for all of their CHBA Net Zero Renovation labeling needs!”

Net Zero Homes, whether new or renovated, produce as much clean energy as they consume. These homes are far more energy efficient than typical homes and greatly reduce the resident’s impact on the environment.

Every part of the house works together to provide consistent temperatures throughout, prevent drafts and filter indoor air to reduce dust and allergens. The result is exceptional energy performance and the ultimate in comfort — a home at the forefront of sustainability.

Capital Home Energy is one of BC’s top Energy Advisors with over 25 years of construction experience. The team works with a wide variety of trusted BC home builders on energy efficiency and other home solutions. Their work is dedicated to reducing the environmental impact left by homes through complex building science and energy-efficient innovations.

As a result of this partnership, the focus of Capital Home Energy’s work will be on Net Zero Renovations.

“I was frustrated with the inefficiencies and waste in the construction industry and decided to take a more proactive approach towards sustainable building,” says Luke Dolan, CEO & Senior Energy Advisor of Capital Home Energy. “This partnership is the next step in helping people reduce their energy consumption, save money and renovate the homes they love to be more efficient, comfortable and have better indoor air quality.”

The partnership was announced at the recent two-day Net Zero Builder & Renovator Training, hosted by CHBA Vancouver Island in Nanaimo. The boot camp presented the latest developments on approaches to Net Zero/Ready Homes focused on optimizing performance and costs. The second day of the event focused on applying these concepts to existing homes to produce the same quality of high performance as in new homes.
