CHBA BC’s New Home Breaks Ground

CHBA BC is thrilled to announce it has secured a new home for its operations in the future! The association has purchased office space at Elmwood, a vibrant community hub in the transit-oriented development area of Burquitilam, set to be completed in 2027 by member Marcon.

“This is a tremendous legacy that members across the province will value for generations. It represents a commitment to better serve our members throughout the province and the homebuilding industry in the years ahead,” said CHBA BC President Randy Chin.

In October 2022, the CHBA BC board of directors unanimously approved a proposal to purchase office space at its provincial meeting in Penticton. The detailed proposal was developed and presented under the guidance of its Investment Task Group, made of members with experience in finance, development and commercial space. The proposal identified the merits of purchasing space for its use, which would anchor its operations in the future.

The proximity to transit was a priority requirement as CHBA BC sought space that would meet the growing association’s needs. “This purchase signifies a significant investment and milestone for CHBA BC.” said CEO Neil Moody. “With a concerted emphasis on building more housing around transit-oriented developments, we are glad we can demonstrate our commitment as an association to this direction.”

Rising across from Burquitlam Skytrain station on the newly built Evergreen line, Elmwood is accessible by transit, Highway 1 and Lougheed Highway – tapping into an extensive commuting network that makes it easily reachable for all of Metro Vancouver.

The CHBA BC thanks its Board for its confidence and vision and its ITG members who helped make this a reality; Randy Chin (current president), Cassidy deVeer, Alex Tavuchis, Curt Schlosser, Joe Geluch and Dan Glavind.
